La cantidad de denuncias realizadas en el Perú se ha incrementado desde el año 2016 al 2019 pasando de 355,876 a 446,508 estando involucrados en las distintas investigaciones peritos que pueden ser de la Policía Nacional del Perú (PNP) o del Ministerio Público. Por ello, el objetivo de la presente investigación fue identificar los factores asociados al nivel de conocimiento en identificación balística e identificación humana y conocer el nivel de conocimiento de este en el Instituto de Criminalística de la DIRCRI-PNP periodo 2020. No se identificaron factores asociados significativamente al nivel de conocimiento en identificación balística y a la identificación humana. Se encontró que el 14,3%, 52,4% y 33,3% de los peritos tenían un nivel de conocimiento alto, medio y bajo mientras que para balística forense el 14,3%, 76,2% y 9,5% de los peritos tenían un nivel de conocimiento alto, medio y bajo. Hay mucho por hacer en la implementación de sistemas de enseñanza y adaptación de sistemas automatizados y de Inteligencia Artificial Explicable (XIA).

The number of reports filed in Peru has increased from 355,876 to 446,508 from 2016 to 2019, with experts from the Peruvian National Police (PNP) or the Public Prosecutor's involved in the various investigations. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify the factors associated with the level of knowledge in firearms and human identification to understand the level of knowledge of this at the Criminalistics Institute of the DIRCRI-PNP; period 2020. No factors significantly associated with the level of knowledge in firearms and human identification were identified. It was found that 14.3%, 52.4%, and 33.3% of the experts had a high, medium, and low level of knowledge, while for forensic ballistics, 14.3%, 76.2%, and 9.5% of the experts had a high, medium, and low level of knowledge. There is much to be done in the implementation of teaching systems and adaptation of automated systems and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XIA).
